Dow’s global citizenship activity in Myanmar focuses on capacity-building workshops to help SMEs

In July 2017, Dow organized a workshop aimed at strengthening Myanmar’s SMEs’ (small-medium enterprises) knowledge in the area of chemical warehousing and transportation. This workshop was organized in partnership with the Myanmar Industries Association (MIA) and the Myanmar Chemical Industry Association (MCIA). This was also the company’s first global citizenship activity in the country since local operations started in 2016.

Attended by more than 60 SME participants, this half-day workshop titled “Best Practices in Chemical Warehousing and Transportation” saw Dow Logistics’ Southeast Asia Road Transport Leader spoke on topics including Chemical Distribution, Handling Safety and Chemical Supply Chain.

The workshop took place at the premise of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) in Yangon. A second workshop took place in November.
